Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper

Equipment

  • 1 Small dry mixing bowl
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Clean completely dry jar

Method

  1. Measure all listed ingredients into a clean, completely dry bowl using level measuring spoons. Whisk or stir until evenly combined; break up dry lumps with the back of a spoon.
Measured ground cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and other chai spices before mixing
  2. Transfer to a clean, fully dry jar. Close tightly and label with the blend name, ingredients and mixing date. Store in a cool, dry cupboard away from heat and light. Use a clean dry spoon. Plan to use within about three months for flavor quality, not as a tested shelf life. Follow original ingredient dates.

  3. Start with ⅛ teaspoon in a mug of warm milk or coffee, whisk well and taste before increasing. Ground spices do not fully dissolve. In baking, use the recipe's specified spice-blend amount rather than adding a full extra dose.

Notes

This exact formula has not been kitchen-tested by Tastewiser. Photos are AI-generated illustrations. Yield, timings and nutrition are estimates. Nutrition is per one level teaspoon of the mix, excluding drinks or other foods. Keep entirely dry; no fresh ginger, milk, oil or liquid extracts. Mixing does not reset spice age. Discard if damp, moldy or contaminated.
