Ingredients
Method
- Preheat a conventional oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and parchment-line an 8-inch square metal pan.
- Mash and measure 1/2 cup (115 g) ripe banana.
- Whisk lukewarm melted butter and brown sugar. Whisk in egg, vanilla and banana.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt separately. Fold into wet ingredients just until no dry flour remains.
- Reserve a handful of chocolate chips; fold remaining chips into batter.
- Spread evenly in pan and add reserved chips. Bake approximately 25–32 minutes, checking from 25 minutes. Center must be set; a toothpick away from chocolate should have moist crumbs, not raw batter.
- Cool completely in pan on a rack. Lift out and slice into 16 equal bars.
